Pablove Benefit Concert: Northern Room + The Delta Routine, Kane Place Record Club, The Championship at Turner Hall Ballroom

Before making a move to Los Angeles and co-founding Dangerbird Records and becoming president of Elektra Records, Jeff Castelaz was an integral part of Milwaukee’s thriving mid-’90s music scene, managing not just Citizen King, but also The Gufs, The Promise Ring, and Willy Porter. But while Castelaz has found a remarkable amount of success since leaving Milwaukee, the 2009 loss of his 6-year-old son, Pablo, to cancer inspired a different calling for the local native. Castelaz originally started the Pablove Foundation to help fund the near-bankrupt playgrounds at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, but after Pablo’s death he organized the “Pablove Across America” bike ride to raise money for families dealing with cancer. He also organized the Pablove Benefit Concert, which returns to Turner Hall tonight. Northern Room, The Delta Routine, Kane Place Record Club, and The Championship are scheduled to perform.
