Theory Of A Deadman, Halestorm, Adelita's Way, and Taking Dawn at Ogden Theatre
Blending radio-friendly hard rock with emotive lyrics, it’s not surprising that Vancouver’s Theory Of A Deadman began its career on Chad Kroeger’s (of Nickelback) 604 Records. The band’s similar stylings—and associations—have certainly aided in its mild success, including a Kroeger collaboration for the 2002 Spider-Man soundtrack. Theory Of A Deadman’s slim discography over nine years consists of just three releases—the latest of which is 2008’s Scars And Souvenirs—with the band spending most of its time on the road. Tourmate Halestorm takes a slightly different approach—Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale’s voice ties together its sexed-up pop-metal hybrid, while the band’s rousing energy pushes through the increasingly dead-eyed hard-rock mainstream.
